FHA loans are insured by the Federal Housing Administration. Designed for low-moderate income borrowers who are unable to make a large down payment. FHA loans go up to 97% financing or 3% down payment. Flexible guidelines with lower credit scores make more people eligible to be homeowners. FHA loans will lend to anyone with at least a 580 score. Mortgage insurance is required for the LIFE of the loan.
VA loans are loans guaranteed by the Veteran’s Administration. There is 100% financing on VA loans. 0% down payment! No Mortgage insurance (MI), competitive interest rates. Easier to qualify. The better your credit score, the lower your rate.
You may be eligible for a VA Home Loan if you meet one or more of the following conditions:
You have served 90 consecutive days of active service during wartime, You have served 181 days of active service during peacetime, You have more than 6 years of service in the National Guard or Reserves, You are the spouse member who has died in the line of duty or as a result of a service-related disability.
